Bank Coop AG was founded in 1927, under the name of Cooperative Central Bank. The bank has the status of a joint stock company. In December 1999, the majority of Coop Bank shares was acquired by Basler Kantonalbank. Bank Coop is marketing and sales orientated bank offering banking services to personal customers, small and medium-sized businesses. The product range includes a comprehensive range of accounts, business and property financing facilities, commercial credits, expert investment advice with handling of securities transactions. The bank has advisory centres in Basel, Geneva, Lausanne, Bern, Zurich and Lugano, but no branches outside Switzerland or foreign subsidiaries in the financial sector.
